I collect... Keys!

and these are my two new babies!!! ;)

actually a great idea to display my collection came from a movie called "mirror mask"
in one of the scenes the main character is desperately looking for a key that opens a specific "crate" where a token is hidden. There is a sort of tower of cast or some other type of material and every piece has a small keyhole
hmm

I guess you have to see it to understand it
but it looked quite impressive and not very hard to do!

if you are an excentric person, capable of building such a piece with keyholes
I bet that it would look rather interesting =)

here the trailer for the movie MIRROR MASK

shock therapy

If I'd known you were cheating me,
I would have saved myself and set you free
If I learned you weren't the loving kind,
I would have saved some peace of mind

My friends told me you would break my heart,
And never last, we would surely part

There's no smoke without fire,
Baby, baby you're a liar

People talk in this little town,
Rumours keep spreading all around
And now word has it you've been foolin' me,
I'm so blind that I cannot see

My friends told me never to believe in you,
You never loved me you were never true

There's no smoke without fire,
Baby, baby you're a liar

No there's no smoke without fire
Baby, baby you're a liar
You're a liar
You're a liar
You're a liar
Baby you're a liar

There's no light without a flame,
There's no use in having you to blame

No
There's no smoke without fire
Baby, baby you're a liar
You're a liar

displaying collections

I have been wondering what is the best way to display my collection... have not found the best way yet. But after searching I need the urge to start collecting even more items.
walter benjamin has an essay about collectors, which is just the right think piece on this topic!

I like that the clocks are not displaying time. They are purely aesthetical.

A friend of mine collects vintage & romantic looking tea cups. I think she does not display them though.

here a pict. of the nicest collections one could start:

I can also see myself collecting antique lamps!!!

and last but not least you can mix different objects and collect by size, age, color etc.

BLUE JEANS
WHITE SHIRT
WALKED INTO THE ROOM U KNOW U MADE MY EYES BURN
IT WAS LIKE, JAMES DEAN- FOR SURE
U SO FRESH TO DEATH & SICK AS CA-CANCER
YOU WERE SORTA PUNK ROCK, I GREW UP ON HIP HOP
BUT U FIT ME BETTER THAN MY FAVORITE SWEATER- AND I KNOW
THAT LUV IS MEAN, AND LUV HURTS
BUT I STILL REMEMBER THAT DAY WE MET IN DECEMBER- OH BABY!
*
I WILL LUV U TILL THE END OF TIME
I WOULD WAIT 1,000,000 YEARS
PROMISE U'LL REMEMBER THAT UR MINE
BABY CAN U SEE THROUGH THE TEARS
LUV U MORE
THAN THOSE BITCHES BEFORE
SAY U'LL REMEMBER -OH BABY- SAY U'LL REMEMBER
I WILL LUV U TILL THE END OF TIME
*
BIG DREAMS
GANGSTER
SAID U HAD TO LEAVE TO START UR LIFE OVER
I WAS LIKE- "NO PLEASE!" STAY HERE!
WE DON'T NEED NO MONEY WE CAN MAKE IT ALL WORK
BUT HE HEADED OUT ON MONDAY, SAID HE'D COME HOME SUNDAY
I STAYED UP WAITIN, ANTICIPATIN AND PACIN BUT HE WAS
CHASING PAPER
CAUGHT UP IN THE GAME-THAT WAS THE LAST I HEARD
*
CHORUS
*
HE WENT OUT EVERY NIGHT
AND BABY THAT'S ALRIGHT
I TOLD U THAT NO MATTER WHAT U DID I'D BE BY YOUR SIDE
CAUSE IM A RIDE OR DIE
WHETHER U FAIL OR FLY
WELL SHIT @ LEAST U TRIED.

BUT WHEN U WALKED OUT THAT DOOR- A PIECE OF ME DIED
I TOLD U I WANTED MORE-BUT THAT NOT WHAT I HAD IN MIND
I JUST WANT IT LIKE BEFORE
WE WERE DANCIN ALL NIGHT
THEN THEY TOOK U AWAY-STOLE U OUT OF MY LIFE
U JUST NEED TO REMEMBER....

TOOLS:

You will need Sculpy/ Fimo:

I had a bit of yellow fimo, which I did not need. The color is up to you, because you will dye it silver in the end!

The following tools come in handy

STEP 1:

kneed the Fimo and mold it to necessary shapes:

1st the head
(size determines the rest of the bodysize)

you can make a sausage type of shape and then cut it off

then another "sausage" cut at both ends so you get a cylinder

Step 2:

connect both head and body with a pin and leave the "antenna" sticking out!

with another pin, which you cut in two, add the legs

it should look like this:

you can also add shoulders with fimo
and the arms I also made by cutting and beding 2 pins.

Step 3:
The eyes can done by indenting the shape with a pen.
After that you should mold two smaller pieces of fimo in a cup size form which you also indent with a pen.

You can add feet if you like!

Step 4:
Now the only thing missing is the antenna and the stripes/mouth, buttons screws and bolts!
this is my result:

Step 5:

Bake it in the oven, while following the instructions of your sculpy/fimo material and voilà!

On the next day I sprayed the little Josef with a chrome colored spray:

1. Describe an object of your choice as detailed as possible (size, colour, use…)

A Thermomix is a very expensive cooking robot. In some countries it is called Bimby. It is produced by a company called Vorwerk. It has the size of a large cooking pan but it is much more than just a cookin pan. They are stainless steel recipients, which fit into a small plastic computerized machine, which is white and has buttons on the surface and a small electronic display. The Thermomix needs electricity in order to work and should be put in a flat surface in your kitchen, next to your working area. It is used for chopping, cooking and preparing food. It is expensive but it is probably one of the most unknown but really good products. I only discovered this invention because my sister bought one. At first I was very skeptical about it’s use, but then I saw it in action and realized how useful it really is. If you want to cook a soup, you literally just need to put all the desired vegetables and water in the recipient and press a button. The Thermomix has the ability to chop the vegetables aor blend them completely so it is your choice how creamy you want your soup to be. It cooks soup in a matter of 30 or 40 minutes, so in the end you have a regular soup. This is very useful especially if you have children and want the least amount of effort while cooking for them. If you want to bake a cake the robot can also do it. And if you want to have a lemonade, you only need to throw in there the whole lemons, sugar and water and pressing a button Before serving you only need to filter out the skin that is lying on the bottom of the pan, and voila there you have your lemonade in 10 seconds.

2.Characterize a person of your choice (try to use as many adjectives as possible)

My best friend is a tall and quite handsome man. He has a big scar on his face since he was little, because he was hit by a horse in his childhood. He is funny and is always, or mostly in a good mood. He is in fact so positive, that since I met him I realised how I started avoiding negative people, and discovered that I am most happy around positive thinkers and optimistic minds like the one that my friend is. He is altruistic and giving. I never witnessed a moment of egoism from his side, which is something I admire deeply. When I met him, he was young and maybe a little foolish, but the more he grew up and the more he got older, the more I realised that he was becoming an admirable personality with treits I could look up to. He is not only someone that makes me smile and makes me happy, he is someone who inspires me to become better. He is gifted and talended in certain things, which I am not sure that he knows about. He is also very intelligent and caring. His flaws are mainly lazyness and impatience.

3.On a cold winter’s day in New York City in December, Joan decided to wake up early to do Christmas shopping. She got up, brushed her teeth energetically and washed her face quickly with warm water. She had only slept five hours that night, like in the last few years since her husband had died. She brushed her hair slowly and got dressed. She gave food to her cat that was still sleeping near the heating device and she got her coat and then left her apartment. After walking outside for a few blocks, she bought coffee to go and drank it on the subway. She hadn’t had a coffee in months, but today it was a special day. She also needed the extra energy to get though all of the things she wanted to do. The subway ride was forty minutes, so she scribbled on a piece of paper what she wanted to buy. She wrote the names of the people and what she had in mind as a gift. Next to the names she also noted a budget limit per person. Joan had always been very organized. She decided to go to the shopping mall, where she knew she would be warm. She bought the first presents in a clothing store for men. She bought a tie and a pair of socks but she couldn’t decide if she also wanted to by a shirt or not, as well. Then she bought flowers and a scarf. She also went to a bakery and bought two different low-calories cakes and three boxes of chocolates. Carrying all of the bags she made her way back home. When she got back she laid everything on the table and looked at it for a while. She had made it. She had bought all that she wanted and she decided it was now time to pack everything in nice festive packaging and bring the presents to the ones she loved. Her cat was sitting on the table looking at all those presents; he looked amused.
Joan got her white uniform out of the closet, dressed it over her dress and took all the presents in bags to the door. Then she fetched a glass of milk from the fridge, drank it leaving a sip or two for her cat. She put her winter coat and gloves on and left the apartment once again. Joan felt cold. She had not eaten anything all day, but she was saving all of her hunger for the feast later that evening. She had made it on time. She had the afternoon and the night shift today. She greeted the co-workers at the entrance of the building. Joe the supervisor told her that it Mr. Smith was being picked up later that evening, other than him everyone else would be present at the Christmas dinner.
Joan felt really happy. When she went up to the fest room she felt delighted. Her co-workers had done a brilliant job decorating the room. The first few members of the audience had already been brought to the room in their wheelchairs. She greeted Mr. and Mrs. Navajo and handed her the chocolate box and him the tie. Then she greeted Mr. Carusi and gave him the pair of socks. They were very happy and thanked her for the gifts very much. She put the two cakes on the table and thought to herself, “This Christmas is going to be wonderful for all of us, even if they have to spend it without their families in a nursing home”.
